The Graveyard Book

This is the project that we are currently working on. Who is Jack? Does the baby escape?


We joined 7N in PA to create our graveyard.....

We did some Geography work and created birds eye view maps, adding keys.

We read the first chapter of the booka nd are starting to ask questions


We are all in role and writing as a reporter, police, witness, Jack, family or baby.
The Scientists have looked at the crime scene

I think that the lesson on monday was quite good because we got to work with different people.I think jack is a mean man i think that he is the kind of person that goes round killing people and getting in trouble.I dont know why he killed the three peole maybe because he wants to look hard infront of people and show of or maybe just because he is so mean and does things like that.I think the book is going to be very interesting,he may murder more people and get caught. It  may be  a little scary.     I think we should keep the baby for 1 night because it isn't nice to kill it when it should have a chance in life and then the following day when a nice looking person comes into the graveyard the baby can go and sit near the person looking sad and hopefully the person will take the baby in either herself or to a foster home Georgia Fenton

    I will persist on saying we should kill the baby as otherwise it will eithr have a very hard life or it will get caught by Jack

    I think we should keep the baby until the end of the night then in the morning someone visiting will see the baby and phone childline. we will need to keep the baby entertained or it will get bord and crawl off. if jack comes we will scar him away. Rebecca

    I think we sould keep the baby because it needs a chance. its only so young and needs a chance because its not nice to kill it when its done nothing wrong. it may die soon because no drink or food but we can stil give it a chance, Amie R

    I think that we should keep the baby for a day because if we leave it he will wander off and get killed,we can keep it until tommorow if nobody takes it we should kill it so it can have a different life with us.Charlotte Collins

    Well you are a bloodthirsty lot! The baby's mum has asked Mistress Owens to look after him and she is determined to do so. Jack is still on the edges of the graveyard and tension is mounting, how will we keep him safe? Mrs H

    I propose to kill the baby before jack does, so it can happily live with its mum,dad and sister like it did before therefor they can carry on with there lives as a family.

    Georgia Burns - Hague says to keep the baby and i will look after him and call him nobody, and then I will become Queen and rule the world and if anybody does not agree with my wonderful idea i will tell my guards to behead you. Plus remember I am the princess of the graveyard and i decide what goes on around here, so is there anyone who does not agree with my fabtastic idea also you might get beheded AND SUFER DISGUSTING CONSIQENSES BY THE RULER OF THE GRAVEYARD PRINCESS LEONA.

    I think that we should leave the baby to starvation,die and rot. Then it can spend the rest of its life like the rest of us and eventually rot.

    The website shows how much work and effort 7R have put into doing the graveyard book. It was interesting reading the other commonts and nice to see the pictures of the children during the lesson.

    WOW - is it really only the end of the first half-term??!! Looking at all the work you have produced, I could be mistaken into thinking this was a full years study!!
    It's great to see pupils in our year group working so hard in a cooperative manner - I look forward to coming and seeing one of your lessons as everything looks so interesting and enjoyable. I will keep reading this blog so that I can see how the 'Graveyard' Story pans out - for the record, I'm with Aime R in giving the baby a chance - lovely to see such empathy and care being shown!

    Hello Elissa's mum its Charlotte.Im here to answer your question - Who is Jack?
    In cultural studies at school we have been reading about him he is a criminal and kills people for a living Jack came to a family of four(a mum dad baby and older child) he killed only 3 of them but the baby escaped.He is still looking for it but who knows what he will do.

    Thank you for your interest Liam's mum! The baby is known as 'Bod' but 7R don't know that yet...if any of them read this I wonder if they can try and guess what 'Bod' is short for! We will let you know, Mrs H

    Hi 7R , Its Charlotte !
    I look very weird on that photo ! As well as elissa !!! ( sorry elissa ) I think that the 3 chair scenes was very fun and want to do somthing like it again girls v boys
